According to data of China’s Customs, China exported 721,935 tons of wire rods in March, jumping by 47% from a month and hitting the highest level since 2008.
In the first quarter of this year, the country’s wire rod exports amounted to 1.82 million tons, increasing by 80% year on year.
Industry source said that the sharply increased wire rod exports were boosted by huge amounts of orders placed before spring holiday started in Mid-February.
