The adult board games evening enjoyed a successful 2015 that culminated with a Christmas special and welcomed back Radio One's Matt Edmondson
Board Game Club is on track to enjoy further growth in 2016 bringing big brands and obscure games together under a raft of new themes.
The nomadic, adult board games evening has enjoyed a successful 2015 that culminated with a Christmas special earlier this week, and welcomed back Board Game Club celebrity, Radio One’s Matt Edmondson.
Amid a nauseating sea of some of the most garish Christmas jumpers you’re likely to find, attendees to the Christmas Board Game Club enjoyed a festive menu of trivia, traditional, party and abstract games.
Goodie bags were even provided by Bananagrams as well as Shuffle from Cartamundi and contributions from Cheatwell and Esdevium.
As well as putting on adult spin on Pie Face courtesy of online retailer, Firebox and its Piña Colada whipped cream, 50 votes were cast to select the ‘Game of the Night,’ an accolade shared in the final Board Game Club of the year by Big Potato’s Obama Llama and Kickstarter number, Fabulous Beasts.
“We were delighted to see so many new faces who gave us some really excellent feedback and complimented us on a firiendly, informal and fun event which they’ll be returning again in 2016,” said Lesley Singleton, co-founder of Board Game Club.
It is encouraged by the festivities at Board Game Club's final event of the year and roster of high profile evenings over the course of the 2015, that Singleton and the Board Game Club team look to the New Year in high spirits.
“We are looking forward to growing Board Game Club even further in 2016,” continued Singleton.
“We have some exciting ideas which will help make some of the more obscure and unusual games more accessible to our crowd, and we’ll continue to support the big brands too by offering them a quality forum for playtesting and cost effective launch platforms for their new games.
“We have some interesting themes planned for later in 2016 and are looking forward to seeing what new games are unveiled at the Toy Fairs next month.”
