Golden State Foods(GSF)has acquired 51%stake in KanPak China,which offers a range of dairy-based products for the quick service restaurant(QSR)and retail industries.
KanPak China,which is located in Xiantao City,Hubei Province,produces smoothies,ice cream,creamers,frozen desserts and specialty beverages.
Following the acquisition,GSF plans to produce liquid products such as ketchup,sauces,dressings and syrups for the QSR industry from 2013.Currently,GSF offers portion control liquid products in the US.It also produces meat products,produce,bakery and bulk-packaged liquid products and provides full-line distribution services to the industry.
Golden State Foods chairman and chief executive officer Mark Wetterau said the acquisition is part of the company's efforts to cater to the demand of products in international markets.
"We are especially looking forward to building our local manufacturing capabilities in China to serve our customers in that region,"Wetterau said.
The partnership will be complementary,allowing both companies to expand their offerings,Wetterau added.
KanPak,based in Kansas,US,offers packaged coffee,dairy and fruit beverages and desserts.It operates facilites in Arkansas City,Kansas;Queretaro,Mexico;and Hubei,China.
