It is learned that Tata Steel’s iron ore project in Canada will produce 1 million tons of iron ore in fiscal year 2014, which will boost the company's European operations. According to Tata Steel Minerals Canada, a 80% owned subsidiary of Tata Steel, the production will begin from the fourth quarter of this year. The plan is to produce 1 million tons of iron ore in the first stage and then ramp up to over 3 million tons in fiscal year 2015. Tata Steel’s iron ore project in Canada contains 64.1 million tons of proven and probable reserves having an average grade of 58.8% iron ore.
