Ahmedabad Will Play Host to The 54th JTC at The ATIRA

Ahmedabad Textile Industry Research Association (ATIRA) – Ahmedabad will play host to the 54th Joint Technological Conference (JTC) at the ATIRA premises in Ahmedabad on January 9, 2013. In to its 54th year, previous JTC's have been held without any breaks and will be jointly hosted by BTRA, NITRA, SITRA and ATIRA.

JTC provides a platform for threadbare discussions including the possibilities of adopting these developments by the industries. Papers highlighting R&D work carried out by these research associations will be presented.

In the first session, papers will be presented on - Process to Enhance Dyeing Performance through Eco-responsible Fabric Preparation by ATIRA, Development of Test Method for Evaluation of Formaldehyde in Textile Auxiliaries by BTRA.

Development of Protective Textiles for Mechanical Hazards - Cut  and Stab by NITRA, Low Salt, Low Alkali Sustainable Reactive Dyeing by ATIRA, Studies on a new Fibre length Tester Towards Process Optimization by SITRA and Studies on Atmospheric Pressure Plasma Treatment on Nylon 66 by BTRA.

In the second session, ATIRA will present paper on Techno Economics of Cotton-Seed Oil Extraction by Novel Screw Expellers: A Stand- alone and in Combination with PEF Technology and NITRA will present on - Cost of Internal Failure and its Implications in a Garment unit.

Energy Saving Opportunity in Textile Processes by NITRA, Towards Zero Burnouts in Motors in Spinning Mills from SITRA and Study of Failures in Electronic Circuits of Textile Machine Controls and Instruments again by SITRA.

In the third and final session, ATIRA will present paper on Nano Fiber based Filter Media for Efficient Filtration, SITRA on Inter-relationships Between Deviation rate in yarn mass (DR%) and Variations in Yarn Tensile Characteristics and Fabric Appearance (SITRA).

BTRA on - Studies on EMI Shielding of Composites and also Use of Conductive Cotton Textiles for EMI Shielding and as Transducers in Gas sensing and the last paper from NITRA will dwell on - An Instrument to Determine Light and Heat Cutting ability of Textiles.

This will be followed by the concluding session.
