Reportedly, Indian State-owned Steel Authority of India Ltd (Sail) planned to raise its annual production capacity of 50 million tons in 2022.
Currently, the company’s annual production capacity is about 14 million tons and it will increase gradually per year. Meanwhile, the company will expect to invest approximately Rs 1.2 lakh crore for new project.
However, since most of the expansions would be carried out in existing plants, expenditure would be little less than what is considered as the thumb-rule. It would be around US$20 billion according to the company said.
