Global steel producer ArcelorMittal has had to shut down a blast furnace on August 8 at its Indiana Harbor steel plant in the US due to a technical failure, according to a Reuters report. ArcelorMittal said that it is not likely to have any difficulties with fulfilling customers' orders during the shutdown.
Media reports say that the malfunction occurring when a turbo blower supplying air to the furnace failed caused no fatalities.
ArcelorMittal's Indiana Harbor plant produces wide range of quality products and grades which are mainly used in automotive, cold-finished and fastener applications.
