Standard-Knapp, a global manufacture of packaging machinery, has announced the availability of the Model 199 continuous-motion case sealer for high-speed sealing of primed flap and re-shipper cases (RSC).
The new sealer's inline design offers high speed, consistent sealing of all incoming cases whether close-coupled a case packer discharge or installed as a stand-alone machine. It offers speeds of up to 50 cases per minute as well as features quick complete changeover in less than two minutes.
The Model 199 sealer, using a one-hose, four-gun, hot melt glue system, glues and folds the top flaps into place. An on demand servo-controlled flap tucker ensures exact timing and a consistent glue pattern. For slower speeds, a pneumatically controlled flap tucker is also available. The model's one-hose and four low-cavity ensures reliable gluing and virtually no-drip operation.
According to the company, the Model 199 was carefully designed with less moving parts to reduce downtime. A durable, well-tested compression section uses standard friction belt to easily handle lightweight cases and eliminates the need for side belts.
A rust-proof stainless steel frame offers low maintenance and HMI touch-screen control panel is user friendly. The operator can complete changeover in less than two minutes, with no tools or change parts needed. The each changeover point is numbered and corresponding settings are documented on a chart provided with the machine.
