Crown Food Packaging North America has developed a large diameter easy-open end for McCall Farms.
The new end enables McCall Farms’ food service customers to better access its 6lb cans of boiled peanuts by removing the need for the can opener entirely.
Crown’s engineers partnered with McCall Farms manufacturing team to modify the end, which has the capacity to withstand the challenging conditions.
McCall has selected 153mm diameter end for its cans to avoid dependence on industrial can openers.
The 153mm diameter can be removed entirety with a fluid gesture through applying less force compared to manual commercial can opener
Exclusively available from Crown, the large-diameter end has been added to the firm’s portfolio with the acquisition of Mivisa Envases, SAU.
McCall Farms co-president Marion Swink said: “Industrial can openers have traditionally been used as a work-around, but they are far from an ideal solution.”
