On 18 July 2012, the Russian Federation Council approved the protocol for Russia’s accession to the WTO. The country will now become a full WTO member 30 days by 22 August at the latest. After that Russia will reduce export duty on logs subject to quotas to 13% for spruce and 15% for pine. Exports of birch and poplar logs are subject to duty of 7% and 5% respectively. New quotas for spruce and pine will be set each year. Source: euwid-wood-products
