International Fairs Help Turkish Textile and Clothing Enterprises Expand Their Clientele

Participating in domestic and international fairs help Turkish textile and clothing enterprises expand their clientele and explore newer markets, said Uludag Textile Exporters Association (UTIB) chairman Ibrahim Burkay during the inauguration of the currently ongoing 6th International Textile and Accessories Fair (TEXBRIDGE 2014) in the Turkish city of Istanbul.

According to a statement issued by UTIB, Mr. Burkay said that within a short period of three years the TEXBRIDGE fair has managed to become one of the leading trade fairs in the textile industry which brings together textile firms from the entire continent of Europe and Asia under the same roof.

During the first two months of 2014, Turkey’s textile and raw material exports touched US$ 1.48 billion, and by the end of the year, the export target of $9.4 billion would be achieved, especially due to participating in such fairs, he added.

Organized by CNR Holding along with the support of UTIB and the Istanbul Textile and Raw Material Exporters Association (ITKIB), Garment Industry Suppliers Association (KYSD) and Clothing Manufacturers Association of Turkey (TCMA), the bi-annual event is a platform for textile and clothing manufacturers to showcase their latest products to international buyers.

Representatives from world-renowned apparel brands such as Zara, Diesel, Dockers, UCB, Baby Gap, DKNY, Dolce and Gabbana, Li-Fung, as well as Marks and Spencer, are also attending the three-day event, scheduled to run till March 28, 2014.

More than 10,000 visitors from various countries in the Middle East, Balkans, Europe, Russia and Africa are attending the show where around 250 exhibitors are showcasing various products including knitted fabric, woven fabric, denim, textile and clothing accessories and sub-industry products.
