Turkey's Stainless Flat Steel Imports Rose by 10.7 Percent

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), following the 40.9 percent month-on-month increase recorded in April, in May this year Turkey's stainless flat steel imports rose by 10.7 percent compared to the previous month. The country's stainless flat steel imports were also up 20.8 percent in May compared to May 2012, amounting to 48,712 metric tons. The value of these imports was $117 million, increasing by 9.2 percent as compared to April and up 9.7 percent year on year.

In the first five months of the year, Turkey's stainless flat steel imports amounted to 183,939 metric tons, increasing 12.7 percent compared to the same period of 2012. The value of these imports was $452.5 million, increasing by 4.9 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
