Ubilux Optoelectronics, a LED epitaxial wafer and chip maker based at the Southern Taiwan Science Park, has ceased business operations, according to industry sources.
Ubilux's exit is possibly due to pressure of price-cut competition from China-based makers, the sources said. Ubilux has laid off 171 employees, the sources cited the Southern Taiwan Science Park administration as indicating.
