DaniMer Scientific Announced That Its Film Resins Have Been Certified as Biodegradable

US-based DaniMer Scientific has announced that its 12291 film resins have been certified as biodegradable in water by a Belgium-based inspection facility Vin otte International.

The OK biodegradable water label ensures biodegradation in a natural fresh water environment and contributes substantially to the cut down of waste in rivers, lakes or any natural fresh water.

DaniMer Scientific senior vice president Scott Tuten said the company conducted extensive research to design the new product that will fully degrade in water.

"DaniMer is pleased to announce the introduction of this revolutionary and environmentally friendly product into the bioplastics marketplace," Tuten added.

According to the company, the film resins have been designed specifically for the conversion and production of disposable shopping bags, compostable bags, odor barrier packaging products and agricultural mulch film, among others.
