Russia's Rusal Has Supplied a Premium of $405/Mt to Japanese Buyers for Q3

Russia's Rusal -- the world's largest aluminum producer -- has offered to Japanese buyers, a premium of $405/mt to London Metal Exchange cash, CIF Japan, for third quarter shipments to Japan, market sources said Thursday.

The company had declined to comment on commercial transactions.

The offered premium of $405/mt represents an 11% hike from the $365-367/mt premiums for the second quarter.

Three other global producers are expected to make their offers for Q3 premiums to Japanese term buyers next week, sources said.

The premiums are for primary aluminum ingot, sows and T-bars of LME P1020A specification, imported into Japan in the third quarter.
