In March this year, iron ore production in Peru amounted to 687,050 long tons (698,075 mt), increasing 20 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and up 24.6 percent compared to February, according to Peru's Energy and Mining Ministry.
In the first quarter of 2013, the country's total iron ore production was 1.8 million long tons (1.9 million mt), marking a rise of 24.6 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
