According to report, Mexican integrated steelmaker Altos Hornos de Mexico (Ahmsa) will start up is expansion plan Fenix on July 18th.
The Fenix project is expected to increase Ahmsa’s annual steel production capacity by 40% to 4.75 million, including the expansion of integrated long and flat production mill in Monclova, northern state of Coahuila.
The construction of the project has been completed several parts including one blast furnace, one air separation unit as well as the first stage of coke plant.
The total investment is $1.5 billion. By the end of first quarter this year and the investment in Fenix project has reached $1.34 billion.
