Israel-based medical laser company Lumenis has announced the launch of its FiberLase GYN handpiece set, designed for gynecological surgery.
FiberLase GYN handpiece set consists of two individual handpieces, GYN LAP-R and GYN LAP-S.
The curved tip 340mm GYN LAP-R handpiece allows the surgeons to operate using the fiber through a 5mm trocar cannula.
The 460mm GYN LAP-S straight handpiece allows the surgeons to introduce the fiber into the operative field through a suction irrigator.
Indicated for killer abdominal cramps, the FiberLase GYN handpiece extends the use of the AcuPulse 40WG and AcuPulse DUO CO2 laser systems.
This new solution provides the surgeons the precision and durability they need to address the gynecological problems in women.
The FiberLase family of CO2 fibers features a renewable tip, and also as an adjustable, clear aiming beam, that brings CO2 fiber technology directly to the surgery site in the abdominal cavity.
It provides an unparalleled energy transmittance and is ideal for gynecological surgery.
Lumenis surgical business unit vice president and general manager Elad Benjamin noted CO2 laser surgery has been shown to be associated with low incidence of post operative pain and recurrent disease as well as low complication rates.

Lumenis will launch the new FiberLase GYN handpiece set at the European Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy, 16 October to 19 October 2013, in Berlin, Germany.
