In The First Two Months of This Year,Brazil's Motor Vehicle Output Decreased by 2.7%

Brazil's motor vehicle output in February this year increased by 18.7 percent from the previous month and rose by 16.9 percent year on year to 281,452 units (excluding agricultural vehicles), according to the Brazilian Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association (Anfavea). Meanwhile, in the first two months of this year, the country's motor vehicle output (excluding agricultural vehicles) decreased by 2.7 percent year on year to 518,638 units.

New motor vehicle registrations (excluding agricultural vehicles) in Brazil totaled 259,328 units in February this year, decreasing by 17 percent month on month and increasing by 10.3 percent year on year. 18.1 percent of this figure consisted of imported new vehicles. In the first two months of the current year, the country's new motor vehicle registrations (excluding agricultural vehicles) increased by 4.6 percent year on year to 571,946 units.

Meanwhile, Brazil's motor vehicle exports in February this year (excluding agricultural vehicles) totaled 28,843 units, increasing by 26.5 percent compared to the previous month and down 9.1 percent year on year. In the January-February period this year, Brazil's motor vehicle exports totaled 51,640 units, down 24 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in February the revenue generated by Brazilian motor vehicle exports (excluding agricultural vehicles) increased by 9.3 percent month on month to $981.48 million, decreasing by eight percent year on year. In the first two months of the current year, in Brazil the revenue generated by motor vehicle exports (excluding agricultural vehicles) decreased by 10 percent year on year to $1.88 billion.
