It is learned that Techint opened their new mill in Buenos Aires, Argentina early this week.
The new mill costs US$63 million is part of the company’s US$570 million investment in the period of 2012 – 2013.
The president of the Techint Group, Paolo Rocca, said the new mill will produce clean and low carbon steel for the automobile sector which intend to replace the imports.
Argentinan government estimates that the new mill’s production will substitute imports of US$60 million per year.
