A new report claims that Samsung may be preparing to unveil the Gear S3 smartwatch and Galaxy Tab S3 at IFA 2016 in Berlin this autumn.
The news comes to us from Italian tech writer Antonio Monaco via Twitter and points to the pair of new devices being launched on September 1 at a special Samsung event at IFA.
Traditionally, Samsung has used the annual IFA trade show in Berlin to catwalk the latest addition to its Galaxy Note phablet line – this year, that would mean the Galaxy Note 7.
Except we already know that Samsung will be revealing the Note 7 in New York on August 2, which led some to believe the South Korean electronics giant could shun Berlin this year.
That seemed unlikely to us – the manufacturer would almost certainly be present showing off shiny new TVs and white goods, and very probably giving the Note 7 its European debut – but Sammy may have more up its sleeve than we first thought.
Speculation suggests that the Gear S3 will be Samsung's most premium smartwatch effort yet, while we'd expect the Tab S3 to be a high-end tablet offering to rival the likes of the Surface Pro 4 and the iPad Pro.
