The Output Serve The Group's Packaging, Medical and Automotive End-User Segments

Swedish molding equipment maker Rosti Integrated Manufacturing Solutions has revealed plans to open a subsidiary in Malaysia, Rosti Integrated Manufacturing Solutions (IMS), with a 5,000 m2 facility by the end of 2012 that will employ about 150 workers.

The firm would invest €3m in the machinery in a year's span at the proposed site in Johor Bahru which is expected to have an entire range of the Sumitomo Demag injection molding machines.

According to the firm, the output from the facility will serve the group's packaging, medical and automotive end-user segments, as the decision was made owing to customer demand in the region.

Rosti currently operates in Asia through subsidiaries in India and China, and the selection of Johor Bahru in Malaysia gives the firm few strategic advantages like proximity with Singapore, which houses regional headquarters for several firms.

Rosti, a part of the Nordstjernan group, has completed a decade of presence in Asia with aims to move from its traditional injection molding function to a fully integrated manufacturing solution provider, and this comes as the next step in duplicating the capability in South East Asia, according to the firm.
