The transport and logistics community is invited to join RedR Australia on Friday 7 February 2014 and wear red to help it make a difference to communities hit by natural disasters or displaced by conflict.
'Wear Red for RedR Day' is a major international fundraising event for RedR organisations across the globe. It's a chance for corporate partners and supporters to get into the spirit of the event, roll up their sleeves, and raise funds and awareness to support its work with humanitarian relief agencies.
What does RedR Australia do?
RedR Australia is a not-for-profit organisation providing skilled people to United Nations and other frontline relief agencies in times of humanitarian crisis. The only 'Standby Partner' to the United Nations in the Southern Hemisphere, it is also a leading provider of humanitarian preparedness training, working to build resilience in disaster-affected communities around the world. Forty-four of our specialists are currently in the field responding to urgent humanitarian needs, including 18 in the Philippines supporting the Typhoon Haiyan response effort.
How you can help
RedR needs your support to help make Wear Red for RedR Day 2014 bigger and better than before.
- Wear red – encourage your colleagues and friends to dig out their claret chinos, scarlet scarves and russet-toned robes, and wear red to the office. Post your pictures and videos on your/your organisation's social media accounts and tag us @RedRAustralia. Prizes will be awarded to the best dressed organisation and individual, so get creative!
- Organise a red fundraising event – combine wearing red with a red-themed event such as a morning tea or lunch, game or quiz, a sports day, second-hand book sale, raffle, afternoon drinks, barefoot bowling session or barbecue.
- Promote what you are doing – include a blurb about the fundraiser and how you/your organisation is getting behind our work on your social media accounts, website, newsletter, notice board, etc.
- Sponsor the event – For information on event sponsorship opportunities, please contact RedR Australia.
