Intermec has released its CK3 ‘Next Generation Series’ of rugged mobile computers, claiming one of the industry’s highest performing mobile computing options to date.
For use in distribution centre, manufacturing and retail operations, the CK3 Next Generation Series is comprised of two models – the CK3X and CK3R – which utilise a 1GHZ OMAP architecture to optimise workforce performance through industry-leading battery life, enhanced barcode scanning, device health monitoring and broad compliance with emerging industry standards such as HTML5.
“For business-critical mobile applications the need for mobile devices with reliable battery performance, data capture configuration options, robust security and enhanced processing power to support increasingly sophisticated applications in a lightweight, ergonomic yet rugged design is critical,” said David Krebs, VP Mobile & Wireless Practice, VDC Research. “Intermec’s CK3 Next Generation family of rugged handheld devices delivers these capabilities and is well designed to support mobile applications across a variety of rigorous warehouse, logistics and retail environments.”
The CK3X is optimised for warehouse operations and is the matching migration option from the current CK3B, while the CK3R is optimised for light industrial and retail front of store applications. Maintaining the current CK3B form factor and rugged design, legacy applications and backwards-compatible accessories allow customers to seamlessly migrate to the latest technology without an additional investment in chargers, docking stations or scan handles.
“The CK3X and CK3R expand upon the popular CK3B for continued best-in-class operations to support customer needs for increased productivity, flexibility and exceptional workforce performance,” said Earl Thompson, Intermec senior vice president, Mobile Solutions Business Unit. “Designed specifically with the future in mind, the CK3 Next Generation Series is an exceptional choice for customers who need to support ever-changing data capture requirements and future-proof their supply chain, DC and in-store retail operations.”
