The DIY-superstore concern Praktiker aims to convert roughly 125 of the 234 German Praktiker DIY superstores to the more up-market sales channel Max Bahr by the end of 2013. The company reports that mainly the larger business locations will be under consideration for conversion. As part of the new alignment of the two-brand strategy, Max Bahr is therefore to be expanded to the new main sales channel with approximately 200 branches by the end of the coming year. The concern expects this development to involve investments in material and personnel in the low three-digit millions range. Max Bahr currently boasts 78 business locations, with the focus on North Germany.
