The Overall Average Finished Steel Price in China Increased by 0.1% Last Week

China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) has announced that during last week (December 2-8) the overall average finished steel price in China increased by 0.1 percent week on week.

In the given week, the average prices of 500 mm x 200 mm H-section steel, 12 mm diameter rebar and 10 mm common medium plate were up 0.3 percent, 0.2 percent and 0.2 percent week on week, respectively.

In the week ending December 8, the average price of minerals in China remained unchanged compared to the previous week. In particular, the average prices of lead ore and tin ore were down 0.8 percent and 0.4 percent respectively. Meanwhile, the average prices of iron ore and zinc ore remained stable, while the average price of copper ore was up 0.2 percent, all week on week.

In the given week, the average price of non-ferrous metals was up 0.1 percent compared to the previous week. In particular, the average price of nickel (Ni >= 99.2 percent) was up 1.2 percent week on week.

In addition, in the week in question the average price of energy in China was up one percent week on week. The average price of raw coal was up 2.3 percent, the average price of crude oil was up 0.2 percent, while the average price of coke remained stable, all week on week
