According to data released by Taiwan’s customs, Taiwan imported 31,169 tons of wire rods in December, soaring substantially by 60.7% from a month ago. The import prices averaged at NT$17,805/ton, decreasing by NT$543/ton from November.
Among them, the imports of wire rods with diameters less than 14mm totaled 30,504 tons, jumping by 57.8% and the imports of wire rods with diameters more than 14mm were at 665 tons, surging by 836%, both compared to those in a month ago.
Meanwhile, Taiwan exported 15,253 tons of wire rods in December, decreasing by 14.8% from a month ago. The average export prices were at NT$21,974/ton, down by NT$212/ton from a month earlier.
