The Tire Industry Association (TIA) announced that through July 7, 2014, it is accepting nominations for the 2014 Tire Industry Hall of Fame.
The TIA Hall of Fame is open to individuals in the tire industry, including manufacturers, inventors, publishers, equipment suppliers, tire association executives, tire dealers, tire and rubber recyclers and retreaders. The Hall of Fame may be awarded posthumously.
Inductees are chosen based on:
their contributions of new ideas, practices and/or innovations that promote the health and well-being of the tire industry; their exemplary and distinguished service in the tire industry; and the respect of their peers; contributions in civic, cultural, educational or charitable endeavors will be considered, but are not a primary consideration as attributes for selection.
A nomination form is available for download or contact Donna Sage at [email protected], (301) 430-7280, ext. 102.
"The Hall of Fame Committee is looking forward to choosing another select group of individuals to induct this year. If you know someone who has made significant contributions to the industry, we encourage you to submit a nomination," said TIA Executive Vice President Roy Littlefield. Past inductees include Harvey Firestone, Charles Goodyear, Andre Michelin, John Dunlop, Les Schwab and Mario Marangoni.
Last year's inductees were Lex Brodie, Robert "Bob" Dunlap and Richard "Dick" Johnson.
The Hall of Fame inductions are the highlight of the Tire Industry Honors Awards Ceremony which will be held on Nov. 3, 2014, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
