Textile exporters from Taiwan expect to secure around US$ 8 million orders from buyers in India and Sri Lanka, following a promotional tour of 14 textile firms that visited the two South Asian countries during the Taiwan Textile Fairs held recently from November 18 to 27, 2013, as per the Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF).
According to TTF, the 14 local firms that participated at the TTF fairs conducted in New Delhi, Bangalore and Colombo have seen huge business growth from buyers in the two countries, reports Taiwan News quoting CNA.
During the promotional conference in the two countries, representatives from the firms spoke about their products and met with potential buyers to negotiate business deals.
According to TTF, the conference resulted into positive interactions and trade negotiations with some of the well-known garment manufacturers, exporters, domestic clothing brands, traders and fabric manufacturers.
The TTF fairs also saw participation from representatives of major international brands such as Victoria’s Secret, Tesco, Speedo and Coach, with whom the Taiwanese firms could exchange information.
The textile fairs in the two countries organized by TTF were conducted with the support of the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI), Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) of India and Sri Lanka Textile Association.
The textile fairs were the eighth tour for promotional activities conducted by TTF in India and second in Sri Lanka. The organization has also announced plans for another tour to the two countries in mid-November next year.
