The Output of Stainless Steel Is Expected to Increase 12.5% in 2014

According to report of Macquarie Commodities Research last week, the output of stainless steel is expected to increase to 21.6 million tons, up by 12.5% in 2014. It indicated the net exports of stainless steel in China were strong growth to nearly 2 million tons in 2013, soaring by about 50% from 2012. Also, Chinese steel industry will integrate over 50% of RKEF (rotary kiln/electric furnace) nickel pig iron production with its output of stainless steel by 2014, said Macquarie. The company forecasted the Chinese stainless mills could gain benefit from this that saves costs of almost 75% of the current LME nickel price.
