Australian Dollar Rose Ahead of The Release of Domestic Jobs Data

The Australian dollar rose ahead of the release of domestic jobs data.

At 6.20am AEDT the local currency was at 105.63 US cents, up from yesterday’s local close of 105.53 US cents.

During the overnight offshore session, the Australian dollar traded in a range between 105.33 and 105.66 US cents.

In economics news today, the Australian Bureau of Statistics will release the December labour force report.

Market consensus is for 4500 jobs to have been added in the month, with the unemployment rate tipped to have risen to 5.4 per cent, from 5.2 per cent in November.
