Pirelli & Cie SpA announced it is the only tire company in a new stock index launched by the UN Global Compact in partnership with research firm Sustainalytics.
Pirelli says the index, called the "Global Compact 100," includes 100 companies selected according to their commitment to the Global Compact ten principles, executive leadership commitment, and consistent base-line profitability.
The UN Global Compact says it tracked the stock market performance of the 100 companies over the past three years, and the 100 companies over-performed the FTSE All World stock index over the past one and two-year periods.
The Global Compact 100 companies showed a stock market return of 26.4% over the past year.
