It is reported that the rebar prices offered by domestic Iranian mills would suffer further drawback as the market participants speculated local mills might be offering the debar at lower than US$702/ton ex work. The long products market has been showing signs of sluggishness and prices are moving downward since the beginning of this week. It is said Esfahan Steel Mill, Iran's third largest steel producer directly controlled by the Ministry of Industries & Mines has stopped the shipments for some reasons which have boosted prices from keeping dipping. By middle of the week, prices started dropping again and debar price was US$795/ton ex warehouse in Tehran market.
