Pacific Coast Feather Co. says it will rebuild its mattress pad production operations in Gastonia, N.C., concluding a search for a new facility that began after the company's Wayne, Neb., plant was destroyed by a tornado last fall.
The company said it has found a facility in Gastonia with some existing mattress pad equipment that meets its urgent manufacturing needs. It has entered into an agreement to purchase the building, equipment and land.
Pacific Coast Feather said it expects to complete the transaction by the middle of January, and immediately take possession of the property. It will then begin moving new equipment to the new location.
