Taiwan-based solar cell maker Neo Solar Power (NSP) has reported sales in the third quarter reached NT$2.962 billion (US$101 million), with gross margin of negative 10.86%. According to the firm, due to falling average selling price (ASP), the firm has been selective in choosing orders. Net loss in the third quarter was NT$567 million.
The firm also reported net sales for the first three quarters of 2012 were NT$10.017 billion and net loss was NT$2.746 billion. In the third quarter, said NSP, debt ratio was 41% due to solid financial structure of the firm.
NSP noted that due to oversupply in the market and inventory clear-out by China-based solar firms, the ASP of solar products has been falling.
