Tessenderlo Group has completed the sale of its pharmaceutical ingredients activities in Calaire, France and Farchemia, Italy, to International Chemical Investors Group (ICIG), a private industrial holding company.
This divestment is part of Tessenderlo's focus on specialty products and services in the areas of food, agriculture, water management and valorizing bio-residuals.
Tessenderlo had announced its plan to divest the pharmaceutical ingredients activities in Calaire and Farchemia on 9 October 2012.
The sale was cleared by the merger control authorities on 5 December 2012.
Calaire and Farchemia employ approximately 360 employees, according Tessenderlo.
ICIG is a company that focuses on mid-sized chemicals and pharmaceutical businesses and has acquired 17 businesses till date.
