Iraq exported 79.9 million barrels of oil and gained 8.3 billion U.S. dollars in revenues in August, which marked the highest level in 2013, the Oil Ministry said on Sunday.
An average of 2.579 million barrels were exported daily in the month, the ministry said in a brief statement emailed to Xinhua.
The statement added the country's oil exports in July (72 million barrels) brought in 7.272 billion dollars, which was the lowest levels in several months.
In 2010, Iraq announced its proven oil reserves had increased to 143.1 billion barrels from the previous estimate of 115 billion barrels.
Nearly 95 percent of Iraq's budget comes from oil revenues.
