Arena Has Struck a Deal to Be Acquired by Swiss Private Equity Firm Capvis

Swimwear company Arena has struck a deal to be acquired by Swiss private equity firm Capvis for an undisclosed sum.

Arena has subsidiaries in Italy, France, Germany and the US, and operates through a global network of distributors and licensees. The brand is present in more than 100 countries worldwide.

"We welcome Capvis as our new partner and look forward to working together on becoming the market leader for competitive waterwear and promoting aquatic sports globally," said Arena CEO Cristiano Portas.

Capvis partner Andreas Simon added: "As a global champion in its niche, Arena perfectly fits the Capvis investment strategy."

The acquisition is subject to approval by antitrust authorities.
