CISA Announced That China's Average Daily Crude Steel Output Increased 6.82%

On March 11, the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) announced that in late February (Feb. 21-28) this year the average aggregate daily crude steel output of large and medium-sized steel enterprises in China totaled 1.8041 million mt, up 6.82 percent compared to mid-February (Feb. 11-20). Meanwhile, the average aggregate daily crude steel production of all steelmakers in China in late February was estimated at 2.0817 million mt, indicating a rise of 5.86 percent compared to mid-February.

According to the CISA's previous figures, in mid-February this year the average aggregate daily crude steel output of large and medium-sized steel enterprises in China totaled 1.6888 million mt, down 4.1 percent compared to early February (Feb. 1-10). Meanwhile, the average aggregate daily crude steel production of all steelmakers in China in mid-February was estimated at 1.9664 million mt, indicating a decrease of 4.8 percent compared to early February.

Meanwhile, as of February 28, 2014, overall inventory of the main finished steel products in the major steel markets in China totaled 16.2533 million mt, down 5.86 percent as compared to the figure recorded on February 20.
