Sometimes,it's all about simplicity. The ability to clear a space of the normal clutter and ruminate within its emptiness. That's what minimal art and other concepts provide.Presenting, the Black&White clock by Vadim Kibardin.
Although not in production as of yet(He's looking for manufacturers by the way)the Black and White Clock takes the minimalist philosophy of stripping an object to its essentials to a whole new level. The Russian designer says his Black&White Clock contains only the most necessary element,i.e.current time.
Each figure has self-contained power supply and independent control,it can be fixed to any surface autonomously.A light sensor will switch the clock to an invert mode:the figures are white in the dark time of day and black at daytime.
Size of one figure:60 mm x 110 mm x 10mm
Colour:translucent white
Materials:polycarbonate,luminous part of figure Organic Light-Emitting Diode(OLED)
Power-supply:lithium-ion accumulators
Control(choice of mode and time settings):touch-sensitive
Let's hope his vision becomes reality in homes everywhere.
