According to data released by the Turkish statistical institute (TUIK), the country’s flat product imports totaled 519,823 tons in July, soaring by 26% year on year and increasing by 4.7% from a month ago.
In July, the imports of hot rolled flat steel totaled 337,561 tons, increasing by 27%; that of cold rolled products was at 59,639 ton, down by 7% and that of coated steel products was at 100,093 tons, jumping by 96%, all compared to the figures in the same period of a year ago.
In the first seven months of this year, the country’s imports of flat rolled steel amounted to 3.57 million tons, jumping by 27% year on year.
