Oil Rig Count Increased by One to 1,528, Whereas The Gas Rig Count Remained Level

Baker Hughes reported that for the week ending May 9, the US rig count increased by one to 1,855, following a seven-rig decrease the week before.? The rig count is still up by 86 from 1,769 rigs during the same week a year ago.? The oil rig count increased by one to 1,528, whereas the gas rig count remained level for the second week in a row at 323.

Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by 18 in the week ending May 9 to reach 145, following a five-rig decrease the previous week.? However, the Canadian rig count is still up 27 from 118 rigs during the same week a year ago.
