(China Glass Network) The famous Shanghai Tower with design height of 632 meters, which starts pile and foundation construction in November, 2008, is planned to be open for use by 2015. Height of the main tower is up to 380 meters by now and glass curtain wall installation of the main building is in progress now. As the tallest building of Shanghai, it adopts glass curtain wall of unique flexible system, with excellent resistance to attack of typhoon, earthquake, etc. This is also the first time for super high-rise building to install glass curtain wall of unique flexible system over 140,000 square meters. Background Introduction of Shanghai Tower
Shanghai Tower is located at Z3, the core of the Lujiazui Finance & Trade Zone. While the building's operable floors will reach up to 580 meters, the buildings total height will be 632 meters. With a 380,000-square-meter up-ground area, Shanghai Tower's construction area is 576,000 square meters in all. Depending on a unique spiral façade and green technology for sustainable development, it will become a model of skyscraper of new generation in the world. After its completion, the Shanghai Towerwill be part of a harmonious skyscraper community, side by side with the Jinmao Tower and the WorldFinancial Center. Together the trio will redefine the Lujiazui area skyline and provide it with a new look, which will in turn demonstrate the results of Pudong New Area.
The project is jointly founded by the Shanghai Chengtou Corp., the Luijiazui Finance & Trade Zone Development Co., Ltd., and the Shanghai Construction Group. Shanghai Tower Construction & Development Co., Ltd is in charge of project construction and developing, as well as operating.
Shanghai Tower began pile and foundation construction in November, 2008. The tower's planned to be open for use by 2015.
