Indian JSE Steel's Crude Steel Output Fell by 21% From a Month Ago

Indian JSW Steel said that its crude steel output dropped by 21% from a month ago to 603,000 tons in November due to iron ore shortage and the ongoing shutdown at on Corex iron making furnace at its Vijayanagar works.

It’s known that JSW Steel closed the 800,000 typ Corex furnace since October 15th for reline program to enhance the annual capacity to 850,000 tons. The company planned to restart the furnace in next January.

Meanwhile, the firm’s capacity utilization rates of another one Corex furnace and the other four blast furnaces have decreased to 70% from the previous 80%~85% because of iron ore shortage.

Affected by these factors, JSW Steel’s crude steel production decreased substantially by 21% month on month in November.
