Taipei, Nov.7, 2012 (CENS)--Due to speeding pull-in component deliveries for Apple Inc., Largan Precision Co., Ltd., a major supplier of camera lens for Apple's iPhone 5, saw consolidated revenues in October rise 34% month on month (MoM) to NT$2.416 billion (US$80.53 million), hitting a historical high for the second consecutive month and is expected to grow further with sufficient orders in November.
The firm's consolidated revenues in the first 10 months totaled NT$13.904 billion (US$463.47 million), up 4% from 2011. A representative of Largen attributes the firm's remarkable performance in October to collective growth of its customers rather than individually.
However, Largan's performance is still highly dependent on iPhone 5 and iPad, with monthly revenue growth increasing from 20.5% in July, 30.1% in August, 17.3% in September to 34% in October. Largan's strong growth in October, which is better than expected, is mainly due to improving yield rate in assembly and panels for iPhone 5, along with growing market share of cellphone lens.
Largan's 8MP (mega-pixel) camera lens accounted for 30~40% of the firm's total revenues in the third quarter, which increased to 40~50% in October to show remarkable growth boosted by high-end smartphones. The firm is expected to push revenues further due to still-growing orders taken in November.
