The Lucky Charm Newsagency Group Is Planning an Overhaul

The Lucky Charm to Overhaul Stationery Category

The Lucky Charm (TLC) newsagency group is planning an overhaul of its stationery business following customer feedback that the category is “unexciting”.

TLC managing director Mike Kentros told Stationery News “We have found that the demand and sell-through of the traditional stationery items has slowed. Customers are requesting more exciting stationery and home office products.

“We are planning an overhaul of the stationery category as a group, with the aim to provide a more exciting stationery offering and have been working with key stationery companies to accomplish this,” he said.

Kentros said stationery performed well for the group with a 10 per cent  increase in comparable sales for the category in the first quarter of 2012.

“Stores that filled their local schools' booklists performed better than those who just offered an in-store option,” he said.
