Multinational quoted insurance group RSA Insurance has been appointed by Police Mutual to write its home insurance product, marking an extension of their 20-year partnership on motor insurance.
RSA personal lines broker affinity partnerships head Vicky Symms said, "We've worked closely with Police Mutual to help them grow their motor insurance business and we're delighted that they've chosen to extend the partnership with us for home insurance as well.
"Thanks to our existing partnership we've learnt a lot about their business and this has enabled us to develop a home product and service which is uniquely suited to their customers," Symms added.
Police Mutual commercial director James Henderson said the company is focused on transforming its general insurance business from a quality regional broker into a national distributer of home and motor insurance to our 200,000 members across the UK Police Service.
"RSA worked hard to understand what we're trying to achieve and structured a partnership which demonstrated this," Henderson added.
With major operations in the UK, Scandinavia, Canada, Ireland, Asia and the Middle East, Latin America and Central and Eastern Europe, RSA's net written premiums were £8.4bn in 2012.
