The US Army Corps of Engineers Award a US$29.5 Million Contract to Build New Pump Stations

The US Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District has awarded a US$29.5 million contract to Phylway Construction to build a new pump station with fronting protection features at the existing Wilkinson Canal Pump Station near Myrtle Grove. The 33 month contract includes building a new pump station with a pumping capacity of approximately 1000 cubic feet per second in place of the existing Wilkinson Canal Pump Station and constructing fronting protection features to reduce the effects of storm surge on the pump station during a tropical event. This will bring the Wilkinson Canal Pump Station into compliance with new standards and should be completed in spring 2016.
