Bike Friday Is Recalling About 3,800 Tikit Folding Bikes

EUGENE, OR (BRAIN) — Bike Friday is recalling about 3,800 Tikit folding bikes as part of a voluntary recall in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The handlebar stem on the Tikit can break. So far Bike Friday has received six reports of breakage, two of which resulted in injuries.

The Tikit was manufactured in the U.S. by Eugene, Oregon’s Bike Friday. The bikes came with 16-inch wheels in various colors. They were sold direct and through Bike Friday dealers from January 2007 through September 2012 for between $900 and $5,000.
