South Korean automobile manufacturer Kia Motors has unveiled its new concept car, the K4 sedan, at the 2014 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition which is being held in China.
The new concept sedan is powered by Kia's 1.6L four-cylinder Turbo GDI petrol engine paired to the automatic seven-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT).
Designed for the Chinese consumers, the mid-sized K4 sedan concept comes with a low nose, wedge-shaped profile and high trunk as well as well-equipped interior space and safety features.
Kia Motors Overseas Marketing Group vice president Soon-Nam Lee said from its earliest development stage, the K4 concept was designed to satisfy Chinese consumers' needs and preferences.
"Now, we are confident that the production version of the mid-size K4 family sedan will set a whole new standard for its class in China when it is launched later this year," Lee added.
The vehicle features a push button engine start system, Supervision instrument cluster, and Kia's UVO infotainment system.
Safety features of K4 include six airbags, electronic stability program (ESP) and a rear-view camera, while structure of the K4 is built with active and passive safety systems.
Kia is expected make the new sedan available for Chinese customers during the second half of 2014.
